Permian Basin Workforce Board offers a number of services to help you recruit the right employees, cut your company overhead and boost your bottom line. No matter what your hiring needs are, we can screen and provide access to an extensive applicant pool. A Fidelity Bond is a business insurance policy for employers that hire, retain, or promote at-risk individuals. Fidelity Bonds protect employers against loss due to:

• Employee dishonesty
• Theft
• Forgery
• Larceny
• Embezzlement

Work Opportunity Tax Credit provides businesses with up to six (6) months of subsidized training for qualified employees. Companies submit a weekly timesheet indicating hours worked and receive a monthly wage reimbursement of up to 50% of full-time wage for qualified workers.

Incumbent Worker Training provides funding assistance to qualifying employers to provide skills training to current full-time, permanent employees. The type of training selected is flexible.

Skills Development Fund (SDF) is Texas’ premier job-training program focused on job creation and retention. The SDF grant provides funding for businesses training and development of new or incumbent workers.

• Up to $500,000 per business
• Target average cost per trainee of $2,000
• Training for full-time employees

Apprenticeship Training Program is an attractive way to develop a highly skilled and productive workforce. Business can qualify for tax incentives. Some of the benefits of an Apprenticeship Program are:

• Recruitment and retention of a highly qualified workforce
• A proven process for development of knowledge and skills imparted from experienced personnel to apprentices

Shared Work - Shared Work offers an alternative method of reducing payroll costs during the slowdown period. The Shared Work program allows employers to supplement their employee’s wages lost because of reduced work hours with partial unemployment benefits. Rapid Response program pools resources and services together to assists workers and employers affected by layoffs, plant closures, or natural disasters. The Permian Basin Workforce Board can provide immediate, on-site assistance to help workers facing job losses.
